Position Description

The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha offers an array of activities designed to meet the unique interests and needs of young people throughout the Kenosha community. Employees at the Club exhibit passion and commitment that helps our community thrive.

We are looking for someone to direct and manage daily operations at the after-school site with primary concern for the development, implementation, and supervision of after-school service programs, supervision and training of staff, facilities management, community relations, and membership administration.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate school age programs, activities, and services that reflect the Core Program Areas of Boys & Girls Club and grant objectives that facilitate achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
  • Directly supervise, hire and evaluate Site Directors and any other administration staff. Provide direct supervision to all sites through evaluations and site visits.
  • Ensure each site is staffed appropriately.
  • Ensure a healthy and safe environment; make certain facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained.
  • Assist with scheduling and facilitating staff meetings.
  • Oversee proper record keeping and reporting including activities, events, breakdowns of daily participation figures, notable achievement and any incidents.
  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate Youth Center overall programs, services, and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives, member’s needs and interests.
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet membership goals.
  • Submit required reports and documentation per grant guidelines.
  • Create and maintain financial resources as determined by annual budgets.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with parents, community leaders and community-based organizations.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with KUSD personnel and community schools.
  • Develop strategies to increase visibility of Club programs, services and activities for the community.
  • Drive Club bus when needed.
  • Consult with parents concerning member issues

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.
  • Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment and retention in key personnel.
  • Ability to effectively operate a computer and programs used by the Club.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff.
  • Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline problems.
  • Working knowledge of budget preparation, control, and management.
  • Skills in fundraising events.
  • Demonstrated ability working with youth, parents, and community leaders.
  • Driver’s License, good driving record, personal liability insurance (100,000/300,000) and insurability with BGCK insurance carrier required.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification required prior to beginning employment.
