Youth Programs

The Arts

The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha provides a variety of activities for our members when school is not in session. Children will meet new friends, have new experiences, and most importantly… have fun! Our goal is to provide positive programming that is convenient for parents and provides them with peace of mind knowing that their child is well cared for.

Digital Arts

(2022: Program is currently on pause). The National Photography Program is designed to help members go beyond snapshots and develop skills to take photographs that can really impact the viewer. The current popularity and accessibility of photography makes it a powerful means to engage youth of all ages in creative programming, while simultaneously teaching them skills they will use for the rest of their lives. For some youth, photography opens a door to creative self-expression that no other art form allows. Others may discover a career path.

BGCA’s ImageMakers National Photography Contest features the categories portrait, nature and surroundings, fashion and design, culture and tradition, and editing and filter.

Fine Arts

National Arts Contests enable Club members to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through visual arts and design. Youth who compete have the opportunity to share their creative expressions with the community that are exhibited and judged locally, regionally and nationally.

BGCA’s National Fine Arts Exhibit features these categories: watercolor, pastels, oil and acrylic paint, printmaking, collage, mixed media, colored pencil, monochromatic and group project.

Performing Arts

TNT DramaMatters Afterschool is a drama education program for Clubs. Drama education builds self-confidence, sparks creativity and boosts academic achievement. Sessions consist of a short warm-up, a main activity of games, script work or performance, and a 10-minute cool-down. The program includes many different ways for members to express themselves creatively, from costumes to set design or directing.
