🌟 Celebrating Our Youth Artists! 🎨
We were so proud to see our Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) artists present the incredible murals they created at the Kenosha County Job Center earlier this month!
For 17 years, the Kenosha County Summer Youth Employment Program has been transforming lives through a strong public-private partnership that gives at-risk youth valuable work experience and skills.
This summer, 143 youth worked an average of 20 hours per week for 8 weeks — and thanks to their dedication, juvenile crime was reduced by 37% compared to last summer! 💪
Our young artists learned professional art techniques under the guidance of a KUSD art teacher, exploring everything from surface prep and paint application to creative expression through murals and poetry. Their projects not only showcased their talents but also fostered community pride and neighborhood ownership. 🖌️❤️A huge thank-you to Kenosha County Executive Samantha Kerkman, the Kenosha County Board of Supervisors, and all our community partners for supporting this life-changing program.
