Kenosha, WI – September 27, 2019 – Thanks to a grant from Wingstop Charities, economically disadvantaged youth in Kenosha will be able to play soccer and flag football at the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha this fall and winter. Up to 225 youth will have the opportunity to participate.
Elementary schools that are enrolled in the program will be able to use this opportunity as an incentive for students with good behavior, good grades and etc. Participating elementary schools include Frank, Jefferson, Brass, Curtis Strange, Grewenow, EBSOLA Creative Arts, Roosevelt, Bose, Grant and Wilson. The program is open to 4th and 5th grade students at those schools.
The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha will provide facility space to host games, transportation to the Club, jerseys, referees and scorekeepers. The goal of the program is to foster teamwork, good sportsmanship, and allow youth to further develop motor and cognitive skills.
“I love providing these types of opportunities to youth in the community who may not have these opportunities otherwise,” said BGCK CEO, Jake McGhee. “It’s really great to see the students become teammates thanks to our partnership with Wingstop-Kenosha.”
