Kenosha, WI – December 12, 2019 – This week, several Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha members went shopping at JCPenney for the holidays. Twenty three kids had the opportunity to shop and spend up to $100 each, thanks to the generosity of JCPenney. Members selected everything from clothes and watches, to makeup, toys and candy.
Nationwide, JCPenney selects one store per state who then gets to select a local charity partner for the holiday shopping experience. JCP Pleasant Prairie was the lucky recipient for the state of Wisconsin, and its partner was the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha.
“It was so fun to see the kids shop,” said BGCK CEO, Jake McGhee. “Some kids bought items exclusively for their family and friends, and some kids chose one or two things for themselves. One kid had even had done his research online and came with a list of things he knew he wanted! We are so grateful to JCPenney for this opportunity and for making the holidays a bit brighter for these members.”
“It was a pleasure to host the shopping event for our charity partner, the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha,” said General Manager of JCP Pleasant Prairie, Cindy Stewart. “My team and I had a lot of fun with the kids and it was heartwarming to see them choose gifts for their family and a few fun things for themselves.”
