Kenosha, WI – February 27, 2019 – Wisconsin Evolution, the largest provider of travel youth basketball in southeast Wisconsin, will be bringing its teams, leagues, camps and tournaments to the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha in a formal partnership to begin in March.
The mission of Wisconsin Evolution is similar to that of the Club: To provide an opportunity for youth to grow on and off the basketball court, so that they can become a productive member in society. This partnership will allow Evolution to grow in the number of camps and tournaments ran. Additionally, Evolution will provide scholarships to support those who would not have the financial means to play on a high level team, or participate in a camp or skills training.
Jason Coker, President of Wisconsin Evolution, will begin working full-time to run Evolution beginning in March.
“I’m excited to dedicate my time and full energy to something I am so passionate about,” said Coker. “Making the BGCK the Home of Wisconsin Evolution will be a game changer for youth basketball in our community.”
“In looking for a partner, we look for an organization that aligns with our mission,” said BGCK CEO, Jake McGhee. “Jason and the team at Evolution put the kids and community first and we’re excited they are making the BGCK their home base for all things basketball.”
The partnership will launch with spring and summer team tryouts in early March. The first tournament Evolution plans to host at the Club will be held the weekend of May 31st. Several additional tournaments will be held throughout the year. Evolution will host the first ever high school summer and fall leagues at the BGCK beginning in June 2019.
