BGCK Launches Frank Matrise Jr. & Pat Quilling Sports Fund to Support Local Youth Athletes
Kenosha, WI – December 20, 2019 – Together with Jeff Milkie, the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha will launch the Frank Matrise Jr. & Pat Quilling Sports Fund to support local youth athletes in financial need.
This scholarship program provides assistance to youth from low income families who are interested in playing tackle football, indoor soccer, summer baseball/softball, or winter basketball at the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha (BGC Sports).
The fund will provide scholarships for Kenosha’s youth to participate in BGCK sports at no cost, as well as provide support for new equipment as needed. Parents of local athletes can apply for scholarships on a quarterly basis. The fund will support two athletes each quarter. The first opportunity to apply will be for the 2020 baseball/softball season (application open from April 1 – May 1, 2020). BGC Sports staff will meet on an annual basis to determine the most pressing department needs. Given necessary funding, this account may support those needs as well.
To launch the foundation, a dinner will be held on Thursday, January 30th at Circa on Seventh in downtown Kenosha. Tickets can be purchased and donations can be made online at BGCSports.org/scholarships. The event includes dinner, raffles, prizes and a short program.
