Kenosha, WI – May 8, 2018 – The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha is proud to announce that Na’Kaisha Hughes, Club alumnus, has been awarded a full tuition scholarship from Herzing University.
Hughes was a Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha member from age 13 – 18 and currently works at the Club as a front desk attendant. A graduate of Indian Trail High School and first generation college student, Hughes plans on studying Criminal Justice.
“I plan on getting a Bachelor of Science. I’d like to be a probation officer and also work with at-risk kids and teens,” said Hughes. “I’m excited to get started!”
Thanks to a partnership formed between Herzing University and the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha, each year Herzing University awards up to two full-ride scholarships to deserving Club members or alumni. In order to be eligible to apply, teens must actively participate in Diplomas 2 Degrees programming at the Club.
“Herzing University is a proud supporter of the Boys and Girls Club of Kenosha and we are extremely excited to help Na’Kaisha pursue her goal of a career in public safety,” said Herzing University Kenosha Campus President, Jeff Hill. “We are committed to positively impacting our community through education and look forward to helping more extraordinary individuals from the BGC achieve their educational and career goals.”
