Carly Werwie to Lead BGC Sports Summer Golf Class
Kenosha, WI – June 9, 2017 – Former professional golfer and Kenosha native, Carly Werwie, will be the lead instructor of this summer’s BGC Sports Dr. Aiello and Dr. Perri Youth Golf Academy class.
Werwie is a former WIAA Division 1 State Golf Champion, played collegiate golf at UW-Madison where she recorded five top 20 finishes, and played for four years professionally on the Symetra Tour. She is currently coaching women’s golf at Carthage College and works as an assistant golf pro at Racine Country Club.
Werwie is looking forward to making the game of golf fun for the kids, “A lot of people helped me when I was younger, so I want to make the game fun and exciting for them. The best part about working with junior golfers is seeing how excited they get when they’ve been working hard at something and they see the success they get from it.”
Golf classes will be held on Wednesdays from June 21st – August 9th at Washington Park Municipal Golf Course for kids ages 7 – 16. On the last day of class, kids will play a round of golf with a Kenosha police officer.
The class will teach golfers stance, grip, swing, putting, rules, etiquette and much more. The cost is $100 per child and includes lunch on the last day of class. Registration is open now at bgcsports.org and at the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha.
The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha is a youth guidance organization dedicated to promoting health, social, educational, vocational, cultural, character and leadership development.
