The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha is excited to announce the details of their partnership with Ocean Spray Cranberries. On Tuesday, November 22nd, Boys & Girls Club hosted the leadership team from the local Ocean Spray location to unveil the new signage for the Ocean Spray Cantina concession stand and the leadership team brought samples of Craisins for youth and teen members.
Naming rights to the concession stand is only part one of the three prong approach to the partnership. In addition to a financial contribution through the naming rights, Ocean Spray will work with the Club during the Summer Youth Employment Program, as well as, develop a calendar of volunteer engagement opportunities to provide a well-rounded partnership that give employees hands on opportunity to make an impact on the youth in Kenosha.
Through the Summer Youth Employment Program and the Workforce Investment Act Youth Program, Ocean Spray will work with the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha to identify and select teens and young adults to receive job training and mentoring opportunities at their Kenosha plant location. Goals of the employment include gaining job readiness skills, learning the value of work, being on time, working with others in an actual job setting, developing tangible soft work skills along with the pride of being paid for an honest day’s work.
Ocean Spray will be working with Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha staff to develop a yearlong calendar of engagement opportunities for all employees to volunteer their time in an area that interests them. Examples of engagement will include a Spring Day of Caring, where Ocean Spray employees will volunteer with the facilities staff to work on projects throughout the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha facility and out at CYC Park. Additional engagement opportunities will include Ocean Spray employees volunteering to mentor and tutor youth and teen center members in the club and volunteer to coach various sports throughout the year.
Ocean Spray will have naming rights to the concession stand both at the Boys & Girls Club location on 52nd Street along with the concession stand at CYC Park on 67th Street for the next three years. The signage featured at the concessions stands will highlight the partnership to the hundreds of people throughout Kenosha County and beyond that attend the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha facility to participate in sports in the Johnson Bank Fieldhouse, whether it is basketball, soccer, futsal, pickle ball or volleyball.
