Bedford to Retire From BGCK After Mentoring Youth for 45+ Years
Kenosha, WI – July 6, 2017 – The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha will host a celebration & appreciation gathering for longtime Youth Empowerment Director of Outreach and Schools, Dennis Bedford, at Circa on 7th on Wednesday, July 19th. The free reception will go from 5 – 7pm and is open to Bedford’s professional network.
Light hours d’oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be open. A short presentation will begin at 6pm. Circa on 7th is located at 4902 7th Ave. in downtown Kenosha.
A second gathering will be held at the Club on Friday, July 21st for kids and families Bedford has worked with over the years. As previously reported by the Kenosha News, Bedford is retiring from the Club at the end of July.
Each year, Bedford serves as a case manager to 50+ local youth, supporting them with mentorship, opportunities and positive programming. Bedford has reached over 2,000 kids during his time spent in Kenosha.
The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha is a youth guidance organization dedicated to promoting health, social, educational, vocational, cultural, character and leadership development. The club helps youth improve their lives by building skills, values and self-esteem. Celebrating 25 years serving youth in Kenosha, the club has launched the “$25 for 25 more years” campaign, with proceeds from the fundraiser going to support expansion of free transportation to three additional elementary schools.
